Karen soon discovers that her public humiliation was not an accident. The barista who filmed her has built an entire business around provoking people, editing their reactions, and turning their worst moments into profitable content.

That is when Karen decides to fight back.

She is joined by Roach, a coworker who can find almost anyone online, and Helen, Karen’s seventy-year-old mother, who carries an unusually heavy purse and refuses to explain what is inside it.

Together, they create the Department of Manners.

Their mission sounds simple: find the missing context and expose the people profiting from manufactured outrage.

It does not remain simple for long.

Karen begins confronting dishonest influencers, defending mistreated workers, moving illegally parked delivery vans, and accidentally becoming the exact kind of viral celebrity she despises.

One video makes her a villain. The next makes her a hero.

Karen has not changed. Only the camera angle has.

As her audience grows, thousands of strangers begin asking Karen to punish anyone who has inconvenienced them. Complaints arrive about landlords, grocery stores, cold-handed dentists, missing ranch dressing, and a bitter custody dispute involving a rotisserie chicken.

Karen wanted the truth. The internet wants entertainment.

When the Department of Manners makes a terrible mistake, Karen must face an uncomfortable possibility: she may be helping to operate the same outrage machine that destroyed her.

Why I Wrote This Book

We see viral confrontations every day. A video starts with someone already angry. We watch fifteen seconds, choose a side, and decide what kind of person we are looking at.

But what happened before the recording started?

Was the angry person provoked? Was the clip edited? Is the frightened person behind the camera actually the one who created the confrontation?

Sometimes the person yelling really is wrong. Sometimes everyone is wrong. Sometimes the internet is watching the final thirty seconds of a forty-minute disaster.

Cancelled Karen Gets Her Revenge takes that question and pushes it into a completely unhinged comedy filled with coffee, public meltdowns, fake victimhood, questionable investigations, weaponized smartphones, and one unforgettable artificial chest muscle.

Karen is angry, stubborn, flawed, and frequently one bad decision away from arrest.

She may also have a point.
